KCC COMMON READING SCHEDULE/ROOMS FOR AUGUST 30TH

Dear Common Reading Faculty Participants,

The Orientation Committee has scheduled the KCC Common Reading Faculty-led discussion sessions to begin at 1:00 p.m., rather than the original 11:00 a.m. I hope this does not pose a problem for any of you; please let Enid or me know if it does.

I would like to request that we meet at 11:45 a.m. in M391 (KCTL Conference Room) to brainstorm how we are going to conduct the discussions. At 12:45, we will head for the classrooms that have been assigned to us to conduct the sessions. Kingsborough's Student Ambassadors will escort the ASAP students to each classroom (to learn more about the ASAP cohort, see the info posted on the cover of the KCC website). So, by 1:00 p.m., the 15-20 students should be in each class, ready for you to begin. I'll have your assigned classrooms on Thursday, Aug. 30th. They are all on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the MAC Building.

Again, thank you so much for your willingness to participate in this new College initiative. With your good help, we'll make it a success and will expand it to all incoming students for the next year.

SHARING OUR IDEAS

Dear Faculty,

I am delighted that you have accepted our invitation to participate in this important new College iniatiative: the KCC Common Reading. We have developed the webpage for the KCC Common Reading and would like you to review it and suggest any improvements you wish or any resources you want to add.

As you can see under Study Guide for Students, a reader guide and discussion questions have been included. We need to review them, as well as the material under Resources section, and share our ideas regarding the best ways to conduct faculty-led Discussion Sessions on "The Kite Runner" during the New Student Orientation on August 30th.

So, please, start the dialogue...

Many thanks.

Reza
